C’est tout ce qui lui restait après la mort de son père. Il n’y avait pas d’eau ni d’électricité, mais elle se sentait bien dans sa maison. Elle aimait la lumière de la lune et l’air frais qui y circulait.</p> Il y a quelques années, des galeristes français sont venus à Brazzaville et ont acheté la Maison Tropicale. Ils l’ont démontée et emportée dans des containers. Mireille feuillette, aujourd’hui un catalogue dans lequel elle revoit sa maison exposée à Paris, sur les bords de Seine. Manthia Diawara, originaire du Mali, a réalisé son film à partir du projet artistique d’Ângela Ferreira sur la Maison Tropicale de Jean Prouvé qu’elle a présenté à Venise. Le film est une reconstruction à partir de la mémoire des habitants de Niamey et Brazzaville et propose une réflexion sur les problématiques du post-colonialisme, l’art, l’identité nationale et le patrimoine culturel.
