À La Criée centre d’art contemporain, il présente une sélection d'œuvres récentes : collages, dessins et sculptures en carton.</p> <h3>À la croisée des mondes</h3> Également illustrateur de livres pour enfants et musicien, Jockum Nordström nourrit ses œuvres de références empruntées autant à l’art populaire, à l’art brut, au jazz, au surréalisme qu’à l’architecture, la culture suédoise ou encore à l’art contemporain. Il compose ainsi des fables oniriques, dans lesquelles s’entrecroisent les mondes et les époques. La force de son travail tient dans la tension entre la simplicité de son trait et la polyphonie de ses sujets. L'un des grands intérêts de l'artiste est l'architecture. Sa fascination, qui s'étend jusqu’aux intérieurs et au mobilier, est lié au décor de son enfance en banlieue de Stockholm, à l'époque de la construction des grands ensembles. L’architecture se déploie dans ses œuvres à la fois en deux et trois dimensions. À La Criée, il montre une série de sculptures géométriques et fragiles : immeubles de pacotille dont la gracilité vient contredire la massivité et la tristesse des objets originels. L'artiste défie et défait les catégories : le « prétendu mal fait » est très bien et très consciemment fait chez lui. Il souligne la force libératoire d'une expressivité qui s'absout et joue des carcans et des conventions : les formes et personnages débordent du cadre, les traits sont parfois grossiers parfois tremblants, il y a des coulures volontaires, des inachèvements, des découpes pas nettes, des pliures pas droites.
