<p class="chapeau">What is an exhibition and how do you go about organising one ? These are the questions artists Bevis Martin & Charlie Youle will be putting to pupils from the last year of primary school and the first year of secondary school in Rennes.</p>
These two artists are interested in "the strangeness at the heart of knowledge transmission, in schools, museums or elsewhere." Drawing on popular culture, leisure activities and schoolbooks, their work explores teaching, the absurdity of communication methods and the way they are represented, and the emotions involved in the learning process.
For their IKT Fab project they share their own creative process in thinking up an exhibition with and for the pupils; the theme is PLAYTIME – borrowed from the Rennes Biennial – and the material comes from the Brittany Region Contemporary Art Collection (Frac Bretagne).
Meanwhile students from the High School for Teaching and Education will design and implement educational activities based on the exhibition, to be presented at the Ec’arts gallery in Rennes in April 2015.
